YOU ARE THE PLACEBO: MAKING YOUR MIND MATTER
by Dr. Joe Dispenza

Is it possible to heal by thought alone—without drugs or surgery? There is a body of evidence that says it is, commonly called the placebo effect. In fact, belief in healing can be so strong that pharmaceutical companies use double- and triple-blind randomized studies to try to exclude the power of the mind over the body when evaluating new drugs.

In his book YOU ARE THE PLACEBO: MAKING YOUR MIND MATTER, Dr. Dispenza shares documented cases of people who have reversed serious illness, including cancer, heart disease and Parkinson’s disease, among others. He shares both anecdotal information and clinical trial results while tracing the history and physiology of the placebo effect.

This is not new-age belief, but rather a serious study using neuroscience, biology, and quantum physics to explore what happens in the brain, mind and body when we shed the potentially damaging perceptions and beliefs that hold us back from health and the life that we want to live.

Dr. Dispenza shows us how we can tap into the placebo effect by just using our minds, without the actual placebo – no little white pills dispensed or sham surgeries performed as in a clinical trial. Through meditation, we learn how to access and open the subconscious mind, the part of the body that needs to believe in healing for it to occur.

Have you or anyone you know experienced a seemingly spontaneous healing? I would love to hear from you.

Cancer Revisited - A Reading

A child is born and we pray he or she will be safe and healthy and that we will live to see that child grow. We imagine a charmed life for this little boy or girl. A life free from harm and the traumas and mistakes of our own childhood. Then life happens.   Cancer Revisited, an essay by Mary Ann C Palmer recently published by Brain, Child Magazine, examines her experience as a 4-year-old  when her mom had breast cancer, and then as the mother of a 4-year old when she herself was diagnosed with ovarian cancer. Click here to listen.
