Cancer Revisited – A Reading

A child is born and we pray he or she will be safe and healthy and that we will live to see that child grow. We imagine a charmed life for this little boy or girl. A life free from harm and the traumas and mistakes of our own childhood. Then life happens. Cancer Revisited, an essay by Mary Ann C Palmer recently published by Brain, Child Magazine, examines her experience as a 4-year-old when her mom had breast cancer, and then as the mother of a 4-year old when she herself was diagnosed with ovarian cancer.
